Job Description

Job Title: Surgical Stepdown RN Post-Surgical (Abdominal/Colorectal) Topeka, KSLooking for a rewarding nursing opportunity? This is your chance to work in a dynamic unit with supportive team members, starting October 5, 2026, for an initial 26-week contract with the potential for longer assignments.Quick Facts:

Location: Topeka, KS
Start Date: 10/05/2026
End Date: 04/05/2027
Shift: 12-hour shifts (Day/Night)
Hours/Week: 36 hours guaranteed
Employment Type: Contract (26 weeks, with possibility for extension)
License/Certs: KS or Multistate RN license, AHA BLS required
Experience: Minimum 1 year of progressive care/step-down experience

Pay & Benefits:

Hourly Pay Rate: $60.30
Pay package discussed upon application

What Youll Do:

Provide specialized nursing care to post-surgical abdominal and colorectal patients
Monitor patient progress and manage post-op symptoms
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
Document patient care accurately in Epic system
Assist with patient education and discharge planning
Float to other surgical or medical inpatient floors as needed

What You Need:

Kansas RN license or valid multistate license (no hits allowed)
BLS certification from AHA
Minimum 1 year of recent step-down or progressive care experience
Ability to work flexible day/night shifts
Strong clinical skills and excellent communication abilities
