Job SummarySurgical Tech at Mission Community Hospital is a full-time, salaried position in Panorama City, California. The Surgical Tech is responsible for assisting surgeons and nursing staff in the preparation and completion of surgical procedures.Compensation & BenefitsCompetitive salary and benefits package, including health insurance, vacation, sick leaves, 401K, and performance-based bonusesResponsibilities• Prepare operating room for surgery by setting up surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies• Maintain a high degree of cleanliness in the operating room• Pass instruments and other supplies to surgeons during surgery• Monitor supplies and equipment count during surgery• Assist in dressing changes to prevent wound complications• Clean and sterilize instruments according to hospital protocols• Ensure all medications and implants are handled appropriately• Assist in the recording of medical documentation related to the operative procedure• Participate in a minimum of 12 hours of continuing education courses each yearRequirements• High school diploma or GED• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential• Completion of an accredited surgical technologist program• An understanding of aseptic techniques• At least one year of experience in hospital operating rooms• Knowledge of medical terminology• Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment• Excellent hand-eye coordination• Outstanding communication and organizational skillsEEOC StatementMission Community Hospital provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, or genetics.
