Surgical Technologist
Location: Beckley, WVEmployment Type: Full-Time, Direct HireSchedule: MondayFriday, Day Shift | On-Call Required
Position Overview
Raleigh General Hospital, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist to join its collaborative Surgical Services team. The hospital's seven operating rooms support a variety of specialties, including orthopedics, trauma, spine, general surgery, gynecology, vascular, urology, and robotic procedures.
Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms, instruments, equipment, and supplies for surgical procedures.
- Establish and maintain a sterile field while following infection-control and safety standards.
- Anticipate surgeons' needs and provide instruments and supplies during procedures.
- Assist with patient preparation, positioning, and draping within scope of practice.
- Perform accurate surgical counts and handle specimens appropriately.
- Maintain an organized operating room and complete room turnover between cases.
- Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, anesthesia, and other surgical team members.
- Maintain a strong focus on patient safety and efficient surgical care.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist course Required.
- High school diploma or equivalent Required.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS/BLS) certification Required.
- State Registered Nursing Assistant (SRNA) or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification preferred.
- 34 years of surgical setting experience preferred.
Schedule & On-Call Requirements
- MondayFriday, day shift.
- One weeknight of on-call per week following scheduled shift.
- One weekend of on-call per month.
- Must live within 30 minutes of the facility during on-call hours.
