Job Description
Cooperidge Consulting Firm is seeking a Surgical Technologist II – Main OR for a top healthcare client.
This position plays a key role in supporting surgical teams and ensuring safe, efficient operating room procedures. The Surgical Technologist II works under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician to maintain sterile technique, manage instrumentation, and assist in high-quality perioperative patient care.
Job Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain a sterile surgical field in accordance with policy and regulatory standards.
- Accurately identify and pass surgical instruments and supplies to the surgeon during procedures.
- Participate in sponge, needle, and instrument counts per facility protocol.
- Collaborate with nursing and surgical staff to ensure safe and effective patient outcomes.
- Follow all infection prevention, patient safety, and hospital policies.
- Support orientation and educational initiatives within the surgical department.
- Participate in quality improvement and departmental activities.
Requirements
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Completion of an accredited surgical technologist training program required
- Military surgical technology training accepted
Experience
- Previous experience preferred but not required
Certifications/Licenses
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Active registration with the Virginia Department of Health Professions (or ability to obtain)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
