Survey Party Chief

Impact Recruitment is partnered with a successful Civil Engineering and Land Surveying company seeking a Survey Party Chief in Baltimore, Maryland. The Survey Party Chief is responsible for conducting field survey activities that may include construction layout, MDOT highway, federal, topography in rugged terrain, route surveys, control network, and as-built surveying on a wide variety of projects.Responsibilities:

• The crew chief oversees the daily field operations of a survey crew
• Determine most efficient plan of action for data acquisition for field surveys ranging from primary control through construction layout and as-built surveys, as needed
• Understand and follow directions
• Proficient with documentation of work performed and sketches
• Communicate daily with Project Surveyor and technician regarding project schedule and work progress
• Interact professionally with client representative and land owners
• Read and interpret construction drawings/specifications and understand all aspects of the project specifications and tolerances
• Prepare daily reports, time sheets, and other required paperwork
• Maintain vehicle and field equipment
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications Required:

• 5+ years of industry experience, prior crew chief experience is preferred
• Experience with Trimble equipment is preferred
• Strong communication skills (listening, writing and verbal)
• Proven work history, strong work ethic, and team-player attitude
• Ability to travel for extended periods
• Ability to work in all-weather climates
• Ability to walk long distances through a variety of terrains and carry up to 80lbs
• Valid driver's license, clean background check and drug screening
