Job Summary:

Reporting to the EVP and Chief Financial Officer, Axel André, the Senior Vice President, Investor Relations will have direct responsibility for all of RGA's financial communications, including day-to-day contact with analysts and investors, quarterly earnings releases, and investor presentations. This individual will work closely with the CFO and other members of the executive leadership team to communicate the company's strategy, growth opportunities, and business initiatives in a way that creates clarity, consistency and widespread understanding among investors (current and potential) and sell-side analysts. The Senior Vice President, Investor Relations will be responsible for developing and implementing a successful, strategic, and best-in-class investor relations program for RGA with a focus on building out the global investment community. As RGA's growth strategy continues to evolve, this person will be responsible for developing and enhancing the investor relations capability to reflect this transformation.

Furthermore, this individual will be responsible for broadening and increasing shareholder value through effective communication of business results, outlook, and strategic direction as well as increased investor engagement, acting as a corporate spokesperson representing the organization to the capital markets. Additionally, they will develop all messaging and responses in preparation for quarterly earnings calls, formal investor interactions, as well as input into the preparation and production of annual and quarterly reports. Ultimately, this person will act as the voice of the shareholder population, both internally and externally.

The SVP, Investor Relations will serve as an influential, galvanizing connector within the RGA organization. They will regularly and proactively share market updates and perspective with leadership, ensuring the team is aware of evolving dynamics and priorities, as well as relevant competitive considerations. Further, this leader will work to establish deep relationships with cross-functional peers to ensure timely access to data and updates required for the running of a best-in-class IR program.

The role can be remote, with the understanding that this person will travel as needed to the St. Louis, MO headquarters.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive corporate investor relations strategies, programs and policies that enhance RGA's image and reputation among its constituencies, including analysts, shareholders, employees, and investors.

  • Act as a key corporate spokesperson to the investment community to educate, communicate, and persuade interested parties regarding RGA's financial performance, industry trends, and positive investment opportunities.

  • Become the investor advocate to senior management and the Board of Directors regarding financial and industry trends, shareholders concerns, and competitive actions that might impact the company's stock.

  • Provide practical and meaningful IR support to RGA senior management including counseling and advising executives in regard to conference calls, external presentations, financial releases, and investor visits.

  • Prepare key investment messages and presentations to communicate financial performance, business conditions, and company strategies to sell-side analysts and institutional investors.

  • Collaborate closely with Corporate Communications to ensure message consistency in branding and strategy.

  • Develop and lead quarterly earnings releases, including the processes for developing the press release, script, Q&As, and financial slides.

  • Create an annual marketing plan, including ways to expand and maintain key investors' ownership positions and keep the financial community current on company performance, growth strategies, and industry issues.

  • Conduct competitive analysis, including the development of industry and peer company performance benchmarks. Continuously measure and update this information and use it to provide a relative performance framework to the investment community

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with analysts and investors. Develop a proactive investor relations team to anticipate and address investor and analyst issues, respond to analysts' questions in a timely manner, and gain better understanding of top investors' behaviors.

  • Develop an understanding of the models used by analysts to evaluate company performance and generate periodic reports to management on market and valuation trends.

Required:

  • Undergraduate degree in finance or business; MBA from a top program or equivalent relevant business experience preferred.

  • 15+ years' finance, planning, strategy, or research as an analyst covering financial services organization or as a corporate IR professional within a peer company

  • Excellent written and oral communications skills

  • Proven interpersonal skills to develop relationships that inspire confidence, trust and respect from internal and external contacts

  • Demonstrated knowledge of investor relations practices and SEC regulations regarding disclosure of corporate information, in addition to thorough knowledge of the securities market, SEC disclosures requirements, accounting policies

  • Knowledge of the reinsurance/insurance/and financial services sector is preferable

  • Superb reputation and credibility with the investor community for gathering industry knowledge to benefit the company's messaging and strategies

  • Outstanding analytical skills to interpret the financial models used by investment professionals and analysts to value an organization's performance

  • Experience interacting with a Board of Directors and working as a member of a senior leadership team

Compensation Range:

$294,100.00 - $443,167.00 Annual

Base pay varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and market location. In addition, RGA provides an annual bonus plan that includes all roles and some positions are eligible for participation in our long-term equity incentive plan. RGA also maintains a full range of health, retirement, and other employee benefits.
