Systems Administrator (Hybrid)  Our client in the greater Hartford area looking to add a Systems Administrator to their growing team. • Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure, including firewalls, switches, and wireless environments, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and security*
• Monitor and troubleshoot network performance, proactively identifying and resolving connectivity issues across LAN/WAN, VPN, and hybrid cloud environments*
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external clients to assess business and technical requirements, recommending and implementing effective technology solutions*
• Support and administer virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud environments (e.g., Azure, AWS), including provisioning, scaling, and performance tuning*
• Perform systems administration duties across Windows and Linux servers, including installation, configuration, patching, and ongoing maintenance*
• Manage Active Directory and/or Azure AD, including user provisioning, group policy management, and access controls*
• Oversee server infrastructure, including upgrades, migrations, backups, and disaster recovery processes to ensure business continuity*
• Maintain system security by applying patches, managing endpoint protection, and adhering to best practices for hardening and compliance

Requirements: 

• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, and routing/switching*
• Experience managing firewalls, wireless networks, and implementing network security best practices*
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve network and system performance issues across diverse environments*
• Hands-on experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware and/or Hyper-V*
• Working knowledge of cloud environments, including Microsoft Azure and/or AWS*
• Systems administration experience supporting Windows servers, including configuration, patching, and maintenance*
• Experience with Active Directory and/or Azure AD, including user provisioning and access management*
• Familiarity with backup solutions, disaster recovery processes, and overall infrastructure reliability*
• Understanding of security principles, including system hardening, patch management, and endpoint protection*
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams
