Analog Devices, Inc. currently has a position open for a MEMS System Design Engineer within the Inertial MEMS Technology Group.

The primary responsibility of this position is to lead the development of systems and subsystem products in the MEMS technology group.This position will lead new product development teams to develop,qualifyand release MEMS system level products including inertial measurement units (IMUs) and inertial sensing modules such as vibration sensing modules or navigation modules. The engineer will need to draw upon a broad knowledge across different technologies and lead the cross-functional teams to deliver the system products to navigation,condition basedmonitoringand broad inertial sensing markets.  

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Technical leadershipresponsiblefor development andverification ofcutting-edgesystem level products from concept to high volume production.
  • Write,debugandmaintainembedded software/firmware code for inertial MEMS products.
  • Ensure conformance of embedded code with stakeholder requirement through rigorous verification
  • Design andexecutelaboratory experiments to debug and characterize new products for both hardware and software verification
  • Creating andmaintainingproject plans and schedules to bring new products to market ina timelyfashion and within budget.
  • Manage product requirements, including stakeholder requirements, system,hardwareand software requirements, as well as requirement traceability and validation/verification.
  • Use of commontaskmanagement tools (JIRA) and common requirements management tools (JAMA) for project management. Translate system level requirements into verification strategies.
  • Communicate and collaboratewith design,application,marketing, testdevelopmentand manufacturing teams to develop the products.
  • Work with process,packaging,yieldand quality groups to improve or resolve process/ product interactions,yieldand quality issues.
  • Interact with marketing,applicationand customers to identify and define new products as well as resolve product/application issues.
  • Reviewing product details; guiding performance specifications in datasheets.
  • Innovative thinking and strong initiative to push the state ofthe artis necessary. 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • MS or PhDdegree inElectrical, Mechanical or Controls Engineering
  • Experience in developing C/C++ on embedded platforms
  • Proficient in Bayesian estimation concepts and Kalman filters
  • Strong understanding of Analog and Digital Circuits
  • Good understanding of communication protocols such as SPI, UART, Ethernet, I2C and RS-422
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills for problem-solving and hands-on experience conducting experiments with lab equipment. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience withARM/DSP/FPGA platforms is a plus
  • Experience with software development using MATLAB/Simulink or Python is a plus
  • Experiencewith PCB design tools such as Cadence Allegro is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills and experience working in multidisciplinary team environments
  • High energy and motivationto lead product development and support a fast-growing business

Job Req Type: Graduate JobRequired Travel: Yes, 25% of the timeThe expected wage range for a new hire into this position is $69,600 to $95,700.
  • Actual wage offered may vary depending on work location, experience, education, training, external market data, internal pay equity, or other bona fide factors.
