Overview
Job Description
- Program Office: PMA-273 (Naval Undergraduate Flight Training Systems Program Office) is responsible for managing the aircraft, simulators, and associated systems that support the U.S. Navy’s undergraduate pilot training pipeline.
- Role Focus: Provides engineering and acquisition support to the Assistant Program Manager for Systems Engineering (APMSE) in the management of the T-6B Texan II - primary fixed-wing training aircraft.
- Support systems engineering activities related to sustainment, upgrades, and safety of the T-6B Texan II.
- Monitor system performance, integration and airworthiness
- Coordinate with stakeholders across NAVAIR, training squadrons, and contractors to ensure fleet readiness and training mission effectiveness.
- Contribute to risk management, technical documentation, and compliance with acquisition standards.
- Strong customer relations, analytics, documentation skills
- Self-starter, highly motivated, strong work ethic with a commitment to quality
- Microsoft office suite proficiency, i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Ability to work within a challenging, fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to multi-task and meet competing, deliverable deadlines
- Detail oriented
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to provide clear status and/or communicate issues
- Ability to adapt to evolving technology
- Demonstrated experience in an area of engineering expertise is required.
- Desired Experience:
- Fixed-Wing Aviation Experience: familiarity with aircraft systems, flight training operations, or acquisition support for fixed-wing aircraft.
- Knowledge of systems engineering processes and naval acquisition lifecycle.
- Bachelor’s degree in technical or scientific field from an accredited college or university.
- Three (3) years of recent and relevant experience.
