The Systems Performance Engineering Manager is a customer-facing technical leader within the Projects Coordination Office (PCO), responsible for shaping and coordinating system level performance solutions for complex, multi-segment GE Vernova enterprise projects. This role is heavily engaged up front with customers and commercial teams, influencing solution architecture, operating philosophy, and performance commitments from early project conceptualization (Pre-ITO) through proposal development (ITO) and project execution (OTR).The role supports data center and mission-critical applications, with a strong focus on Gas Turbine, Steam Turbine, Wind Turbine, Power Conversion & Storage, and combined-cycle technologies, working closely with Consulting Services and cross-functional Business Unit engineering teams. The successful candidate acts as a trusted customer technical liaison, translating customer requirements into competitive, compliant, and executable solutions for both behind-the-meter and grid-connected applications.Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Support early-stage customer technical engagement, partnering with Sales, Commercial, and Consulting Services teams to shape system performance concepts and solution strategies during Pre-ITO.
- Coordinate the development of system level performance encompassing Gas Turbine, Steam Turbine, Wind Turbines, Power Conversion & Storage and combined-cycle performance models in collaboration with Consulting Services and Business Units.
- Support and manage technology selection and configuration trade studies to balance performance, cost, risk and schedule.
- Engage and support the various functions in the validation of plant models using GT PRO, ThermoFlow, as well as the generation of heat balances, performance curves, and guarantees.
- Evaluate operating modes relevant to data centers, including Baseload, Peaking, and load following operations.
- Support data center proposals, including N+1/N+2 redundancy, islanded and grid-connected operation.
- Support hyperscale and colocation data center proposals addressing; fast start and load ramp requirements; reliability, availability, and maintainability (RAM) expectations; grid disturbance ride-through and operational flexibility.
- Coordinate with controls and electrical teams on operating philosophy, protection concepts, and grid requirements.
- Identify and communicate technical risks, assumptions, and margins to broader teams.
- Support customer technical clarifications and apply lessons learned to improve proposal quality
- Drive standardization, lessons learned, and continuous improvement across PCO programs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
- Strong understanding of Gas Turbine and Steam Turbine performance fundamentals.
- Demonstrated experience in Pre-ITO, proposal, or early-phase project engineering.
- Hands-on proficiency with GT PROfor simple-cycle and combined-cycle performance modeling.
- Ability to independently develop, troubleshoot, and explain performance models and results.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
Desired Characteristics
- Master’s degree in engineering
- Experience supporting data center or mission-critical power generation projects.
- Familiarity with behind-the-meter vs. grid-connected architectures and performance implications.
- Experience with additional tools such as Thermoflow, PEACE, GateCycle, or similar.
- Understanding of electrical balance of plant, including transformers, switchgear, and protection philosophy, and how these impact performance assumptions.
- Exposure to controls strategies, fast-start operation, and flexible dispatch.
- Experience working with GE Vernova gas and steam turbine technologies

For candidates applying to a Canadian-based position, the pay range for this position is between $182,000 and $227,000 CAD. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
