Job Description

Ergon Inc. is seeking a Tax Accountant to join our Tax team. The Tax Accountant supports various tax functions, including Sales & Use Tax, Motor Fuel Tax, Property Tax, and Business Licensing, by reconciling accounts, filing returns, and ensuring compliance with state regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Works in Sales & Use Tax, Motor Fuel Tax, Property Tax, and Business License.
Reconcile tax accounts
File Returns
Assist in the customer tax setup in the billing process
Review customer files to ensure Ergon complies with all states and exemptions
Conduct tax research for multiple states
Submit and request exemption certificates
Handle customer tax adjustments
Assist company accountants with tax rules and regulations

Education and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business, or equivalent
Two years of prior accounting experience preferred
