Tax Accountant

Summary: Established Houston CPA firm in NW Houston has an immediate need for a Tax Accountant.  This lovely firm is well established, regional and has an excellent and supportive client base.    The firm has a hybrid work schedule and a lovely office in NW Houston.  This firm WILL consider training someone who has done accounting or audit work and wants to learn tax. Description: This NW CPA firm has experienced tremendous growth, and in innovative ways, is changing the way tax is viewed with their clients.  This firm has outstanding, A+ clients, who welcome the advice and help provided.  They are pro-active, paperless, and offer extremely low overtime.  In fact, work-a-holics would not fit in this environment!  They offer competitive benefits and room to grow into a partner role.  The position they seek to fill is open due to growth and an expanding client base!  The managers in this firm are very pro-active and believe in extensive training and development for the team.  In fact, they are open to a candidate who seriously wants to learn tax but hasn’t had the chance to develop that skill just yet in their current firm.  The firm is concerned with total development, not just churning out returns.Responsibilities:

•         Prepare income tax returns (corporate, partnership, individual, etc.)*
• Work extensively with clients - even at a staff level

•         Perform tax planning/research*
•         Respond to IRS and state tax notices

Qualifications:

•         Bachelors degree in Accounting is required*
•      1+ to 10 years public accounting experience with another mid sized or boutique  CPA firm is required*
•         CPA (or candidate) preferred*
•         Good oral and written communication skills*
•         Self-motivated*
•         Organized*
•         Detail oriented
