Position Summary

The Tax Analyst assists and supports team members in performing assessment reviews for DMA clients, to achieve maximum tax savings and provide other state and local tax consulting services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collects and organizes client data

  • Research and enter data into Property Tax database and Excel spreadsheets

  • Communicate with assessors and tax collectors regarding assessment notices, valuations, tax bills, refunds, and appeal deadlines

  • Calculate and process reductions obtained and perform follow-up billing

  • Track down refunds and/or tax bills for billing support

  • Prepares and revises spreadsheets for clients and/or team members utilizing Excel

  • Assists in generating client reports

  • Prepare general correspondence to clients as well as interoffice communications

  • Updates and maintains organized client files

  • Conducts basic tax research under supervision

  • Prepare expense reports and coordinate travel arrangements

  • Performs other administrative duties including, but not limited to ordering supplies, researching vendors, answering incoming calls, greeting visitors, scheduling meetings, and preparing documents

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education and Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or Economics required; Bachelor's degree preferred

  • 2-5 years’ professional work experience; preferably in an administrative support role

  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Work Schedule: Regular, 40 hours/week

  • Travel: Less than 10%

  • Physical Activity:

    • Ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sounds

    • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
