What you'll need to succeed as a Tax Intern at XPO
Minimum qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent and currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
Preferred qualifications:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Solid organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to set priorities and meet deadlines
- Self-motivated instincts with the ability to work well with minimal supervision or in a team environment and consult with team members/management as needed
- Completion of at least one tax course preferred
About the Tax Intern job
What you'll do on a typical day:
- Assist with the preparation of federal and state tax returns, estimates, provisions and planning
- Assist with tax notices and audits
- Collaborate with the tax team to create reports and work on special projects for management
- Gain understanding and experience with Tax Accounting
- Build strong relationships and collaborations with members of the tax department to support department and company goals
- Identify opportunities to improve current processes
