Tax Manager | Kansas City

Tax Manager  Kansas City, MO | Hybrid work environment  ARC Group is recruiting for a Tax Manager on behalf of our client, a nationally recognized Top 15 CPA firm. This role is ideal for a tax professional with strong experience in ASC 740 (Accounting for Income Taxes) and corporate taxation, who is looking to grow within a collaborative, high-performing firm.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and review ASC 740 income tax provisions, including current and deferred tax calculations, uncertain tax positions, and related disclosures.

• Oversee and review corporate tax compliance for federal, state, and local income tax filings.

• Research and interpret U.S. GAAP and corporate income tax law to support compliance, planning, and financial reporting.

• Provide technical tax guidance to clients and internal teams on complex tax matters.

• Assist with tax planning strategies and support clients through audits and regulatory inquiries as needed.

• Mentor and develop junior staff, reviewing work and ensuring quality and compliance with firm standards.

Qualifications

• CPA required

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field

• 4+ years of progressive experience in tax compliance and/or tax consulting

• Strong working knowledge of ASC 740 – Accounting for Income Taxes

• Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and corporate income tax laws and regulations

• Experience with state and local income taxes (SALT)

• Exposure to international taxation and transfer pricing is preferred

• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
