Tax Manager - Private Client Services

Location: Stamford, CT

Overview

A large national accounting and advisory firm is seeking a Tax Manager for its boutique Private Client Services practice in Stamford, Connecticut. You will provide tax compliance and consulting services to high-net-worth individuals, families, family offices and executives with complicated tax and financial situations.

Responsibilities

Manage tax and consulting engagements and identify planning and consulting opportunities
Work directly with clients and their advisors to gather information for returns
Review individual, trust, estate, S corporation, foundation, partnership and gift tax returns and provide feedback to staff
Direct communication with government agencies on complex matters
Conduct advanced tax research and develop sound recommendations
Supervise, schedule, train and coach associates and senior associates
Build internal and external referral relationships

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required (Accounting, Finance, Economics or Statistics preferred); Master's in Accountancy or Taxation preferred
5+ years of experience in accounting, finance or law
Public accounting or private client services experience preferred
CPA, EA, attorney or equivalent credential required
Proficiency with Microsoft Office; GoSystems, SurePrep and tax research tools preferred
