As a Tax Manager, you'll oversee client engagements while serving as a strategic advisor to business owners and individuals.

Key Responsibilities

Tax Advisory & Planning

  • Develop proactive tax planning strategies for clients
  • Help clients achieve long-term business and financial goals
  • Research complex tax issues and provide recommendations
  • Identify tax-saving opportunities and planning initiatives
  • Stay current on changing tax laws and regulatory developments

Client Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain long-term client relationships
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to business owners and executives
  • Participate in strategic planning discussions with clients
  • Deliver exceptional responsiveness and service
  • Identify opportunities to expand client relationships and services

Tax Compliance & Review

  • Review complex individual, partnership, corporate, and trust returns
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state tax regulations
  • Oversee engagement quality and accuracy
  • Assist with complex tax matters and special projects
  • Manage multiple client engagements simultaneously

Leadership & Staff Development

  • Supervise and mentor Senior Accountants and Staff Accountants
  • Review work product and provide constructive feedback
  • Assist with training and professional development initiatives
  • Foster collaboration and accountability throughout the team
  • Support recruiting and retention efforts

Practice Growth

  • Assist with business development initiatives
  • Contribute to strategic growth opportunities
  • Participate in firm initiatives and leadership discussions
  • Help strengthen the firm's industry presence
  • Support long-term succession planning and firm development

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field
  • CPA license
  • 5+ years of public accounting tax experience
  • Experience reviewing complex business and individual tax returns
  • Strong tax planning and advisory experience
  • Experience managing client engagements
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong leadership and relationship management abilities

Preferred

  • Experience serving real estate clients
  • Agriculture tax experience
  • Construction industry experience
  • Estate and trust taxation experience
  • High-net-worth tax planning experience
  • Prior supervisory or management experience
