Build Relationships. Deliver Value. Grow Your Career.
At Magone & Company, we believe great tax professionals do more than prepare tax returns—they become trusted advisors who help businesses and individuals make smarter financial decisions.
As a growing public accounting firm, we partner with privately held businesses, business owners, and individuals to provide proactive tax planning, strategic guidance, and practical solutions that extend far beyond compliance.
If you're looking for a role focused solely on tax return preparation, this may not be the right fit.
If you're excited about expanding your technical expertise, working directly with clients, developing your advisory skills, and taking the next step toward leadership, we'd love to meet you.
About the Role
We're seeking an experienced Tax Senior to prepare and review complex tax engagements while working closely with Managers and Partners to deliver exceptional client service. You'll gain meaningful exposure to tax planning, advisory services, and direct client interaction while mentoring junior staff and building the skills needed to advance into a leadership role.
This position offers the opportunity to deepen your technical expertise, strengthen client relationships, and develop into a trusted advisor who helps clients navigate complex tax matters and achieve their financial goals.

  • Work directly with Managers and Partners on strategic client projects
  • Mentor and support junior staff as they develop their careers
  • Leverage technology, AI, and automation to improve efficiency and client service

What You'll Do

  • Assist with tax planning projects and research complex tax issues
  • Communicate directly with clients to gather information, answer questions, and provide responsive service
  • Identify tax-saving opportunities and practical planning recommendations for review by Managers and Partners
  • Participate in client meetings and develop your advisory and consulting skills
  • Mentor and review the work of junior tax staff
  • Stay current on federal, state, and local tax legislation and emerging developments
  • Utilize technology and process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting (Master's in Taxation or related field is a plus)
  • CPA license or active progress toward CPA certification preferred
  • 3–5 years of progressive public accounting tax experience
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax compliance
  • Experience preparing and reviewing complex individual and business tax returns
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A collaborative, growth-oriented mindset with an interest in advisory services and professional development
  • Experience mentoring junior staff is a plus
  • Proficiency with tax preparation software, Microsoft Office, and technology tools
Compensation & Benefits
Compensation: $100K+ Competitive and based on experience.
We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including:
