Tax Staff
Compensation:
Pay: From $65,000 to 75,000 per year (based on experience)
Tax Staff work a seasonal schedule aligned with client demand. During slower periods (mid-October through January and mid-April through July), team members typically work 32-hour weeks with Fridays off. During peak periods, hours increase to meet client needs, with total annual hours averaging approximately 2,080. Compensation is paid in equal, consistent paychecks throughout the year, regardless of weekly hours worked.
Position Type: Full-Time Exempt
In compliance with the Colorado Equal Pay Act, Compensation Differentials for this position are based on education, experience, training, and geographic location, as well as DWC's seniority and merit systems.
Job Responsibilities:
- Partnering with Supervisors to ensure client compliance with tax regulations while minimizing tax burdens.
- Preparing required tax filings and documentation, tailored to each client's unique circumstances.
- Collecting and communicating all necessary data for accurate tax return preparation.
- Utilizing cutting-edge compliance software to streamline the tax preparation process.
- Assisting with tax consulting, recommending efficient methods to maximize client benefits and minimize taxes.
- Applying your expertise in home state tax structures and filing requirements.
- Drafting clear and concise memos and correspondence.
- Identifying potential tax issues or opportunities during the tax compliance process.
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
- Knowledge of tax laws and regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to work in a team.
- Professional communication and documentation abilities.
