Tax Supervisor
Location: Annapolis, MD (hybrid: 4 days onsite/1 day remote)
Our client is a full-service public accounting and consulting firm located in Annapolis, Maryland. For over 70 years, they've served a wide variety of clients throughout the Baltimore-Washington metropolitan area. Services include individual tax planning and preparation, business tax services, accounting, auditing, management advisory, and business consulting.

Responsibilities:
Prepare and review individual, corporate, partnership, fiduciary, nonprofit, and other tax returns.
Provide tax planning and advisory services for individuals, businesses, estates, trusts, and other entities.
Manage assigned tax engagements from initial information gathering through final review, filing, and delivery to the client.
Review tax workpapers, returns, projections, correspondence, and other client deliverables for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with firm standards.
Supervise, train, assign work to, and review the work of staff and senior accountants.
Identify and resolve complex tax issues, filing requirements, notices, and client-specific compliance matters.
Perform tax research and apply findings to tax compliance and planning opportunities.
Serve as a key client contact and help manage ongoing client relationships.
Coordinate with attorneys, financial advisors, bankers, payroll providers, and other outside professionals when needed.
Demonstrate sound professional judgment, accountability, technical competence, and a commitment to high-quality tax service.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting
CPA license required or actively pursuing CPA certification
5+ years of public accounting tax experience
Experience reviewing individual and business tax returns
Experience supervising, training, or mentoring staff accountants
Strong knowledge of individual and business tax compliance and planning
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong computer skills; experience with CCH ProSystem fx Engagement and CCH Axcess is a plus
Ability to work closely with clients, partners, managers, staff, and outside professionals
Self-starter with strong work ethic, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Interest in growing a long-term career in public accounting
Hours:
Normal work hours: 40 hours per week
Tax season hours (Estimated): 53 hours per week, generally from February 1 through April 15
