Job Description
The responsibilities of a Special Education Teacher's Assistant include, assisting the assigned staff member(s) in all aspects of daily programming, including, but not limited to: social, academic, behavioral, toileting, and self-help. Assist in the direct supervision of children in the assigned program as directed by the teacher or administrator (e.g. bus loading and unloading, classroom assignments, lunch, recess, etc.) Maintains confidentiality regarding all aspects of working with special education children and other staff. Demonstrates an understanding of students' disabilities.
An associate's degree, the equivalent number of college coursework, or a passing score on the Praxis Parapro assessment are required.
Attendance is an essential function of the job.
