Seeking an Equipment Engineering and Maintenance Team Leader

This role is responsible for making timely, data-driven decisions that directly impact equipment performance, material quality, team effectiveness, project execution, and overall fab results. The Team Leader exercises judgment across a wide range of areas, including personnel selection, onboarding, development planning, and performance management in alignment with company policies. The position oversees cost center budgeting, spending prioritization, and maintenance resource allocation, while making risk-based decisions related to material quality, equipment performance, and containment actions. The role also leads response and recovery efforts for excursions affecting yield, quality, cycle time, and tool availability, and partners closely with Technology and Operations to define and execute Fab Performance Strategy and priorities. Additional responsibilities include setting team and performance goals, supporting audit readiness and compliance actions, balancing maintenance priorities across preventive, corrective, and project work, and managing trade-offs between short-term recovery and long-term reliability. The Team Leader also drives decisions related to escalation, vendor engagement, resource deployment, spare parts strategy, and lifecycle planning, including upgrades and retrofits. Finally, the role governs adoption of data, analytics, and predictive maintenance approaches, and approves equipment or process changes that may impact capability, stability, product quality, timelines, or capital effectiveness.

Job Duties

  • Provide leadership and direction to Equipment Engineers and Maintenance Technicians, setting clear expectations, priorities, and accountability for performance, safety, and development.
  • Own equipment uptime, availability, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) for assigned areas, ensuring tool performance supports fab output and quality requirements.
  • Lead rapid troubleshooting, escalation, and structured recovery of critical tool issues to minimize downtime and restore stable operation.
  • Define, implement, and continuously improve preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance strategies to reduce unplanned downtime and improve reliability.
  • Drive data-based reliability engineering through use of equipment history, SPC, fault trends, and predictive indicators to identify and prevent failures before they impact production.
  • Lead structured problem solving for recurring or systemic equipment issues using methodologies such as RCA, 8D, DOE, and FMEA.
  • Lead engineering projects from concept through execution, including scope definition, resource planning, milestone tracking, risk management, and communication of project status and outcomes.
  • Coordinate cross-functional execution of capital projects, equipment upgrades, process transfers, and technical improvement initiatives to ensure timely completion and sustainable results.
  • Ensure engineering projects are executed with strong change control, technical documentation, qualification rigor, and alignment to safety, quality, cost, and operational objectives.
  • Prioritize and manage multiple engineering and maintenance initiatives simultaneously, balancing project execution with day-to-day fab support requirements.
  • Partner closely with Technology and Operations to define and execute Fab Performance Strategy, aligning maintenance priorities and engineering projects with business, quality, and capacity objectives.
  • Support capital planning, equipment upgrades, obsolescence management, and lifecycle strategy to sustain a competitive and reliable manufacturing capability.
  • Build team capability through coaching, training, competency development, and performance feedback to ensure a highly skilled and engaged organization.
  • Ensure disciplined execution of safety, environmental, quality, and regulatory requirements, including audit readiness, procedural compliance, and cleanroom standards.
  • Manage maintenance-related cost performance through effective budgeting, resource allocation, contractor support, and spare parts strategy.
  • Maintain compliance of 5S standards of engineering and maintenance workspaces in offices, shops, and production areas.
