BAPI is looking for a Technical Document Designer who can create product datasheets, catalogs, installation manuals and technical guides for our line of advanced HVAC sensors. The Technical Documentation Designer will take the text, images and graphics provided by product managers and engineers and produce attractive and high-quality documentation that serves both technical and non-technical audiences.

Technical Document Designer Principal Responsibilities:

Documentation and Development:

• Develop, edit and maintain technical documentation for HVAC sensor products, including installation manuals, product datasheets, troubleshooting guides, and internal knowledge resources.
• Translate complex technical information into attractive, clear and user-friendly documentation for customers, technicians, and internal teams.
• Ensure documentation is accurate, consistent, and aligned with product specifications and company standards.

Information Gathering and Technical Accuracy:

• Collaborate with Engineering, Product Management, Marketing, and Sales teams to collect accurate technical information, images and graphics.
• Verify technical content for accuracy and completeness before publication.
• Ensure all documentation reflects current product specifications, engineering changes (ENF/ECN), and industry standards.

Content Organization and Knowledge Management:

• Maintain organized documentation systems and repositories to ensure the most current versions are accessible to internal teams and customers.
• Establish and manage internal knowledge resources to support training, product understanding, and customer support.
• Ensure documentation is easy to search, navigate, and maintain for long-term use.

Cross-Functional Collaboration and Product Data Integration:

• Assist Marketing and Product Management with creating training materials, presentations, and internal knowledge-based articles.
• Help organize and maintain documentation repositories for easy access and version tracking.
• Participate in cross-functional meetings to understand documentation needs across teams.
• Ensure deliverables support product releases, engineering updates, and team workflows.

Requirements

Technical Document Designer Education Requirements (R/Required, P/Preferred):

(P) Bachelors Degree

Degree Preferred: Technical Writing, Communications, or related field (or experience).

Training, Skills, Knowledge and Experience

Specific Training in this field (R/Required, P/Preferred):

Experience/Knowledge in this field (R/Required, P/Preferred):

• (R) Strong written and oral communications skills
• (R) Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator
• (P) Document Control, Version Control Systems,
• (P) PLM-like tools
• (P) Understanding of Engineering Change Processes
• (P) Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word)
• (P) Experience in HVAC & Electronics
