Technical Program Manager

Job Description:BS/ MS degree or equivalent practical experience6-8 years' experience in technical program management, or a combination of TPM andengineering experienceAdditionally, professional certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP)or Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) may be preferredStrong technical background with the ability to understand and guide complex technicalinitiatives.Experience in Agile/Scrum methodology ideally in a fast-paced DevOps environmentMastery in Tools like Jira, Confluence and SmartsheetExperience managing cross-functional, geographically distributed teams and working inglobal, fast-paced environments. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence andcollaborate effectively with senior leadership, engineers, and other stakeholders.Agility balancing competing priorities while driving projects to successful completion.Experience in Embedded domain (preferably with Video/ Broadband domain)Previous experience in a quality engineering or release management role.

Key Responsibilities: Understands the scope of technical programs as defined by the product and businessrequirements and the budget process. Participates in the key planning of milestones.Identifies, confirms, and obtains participation from required cross-functional teams. Works with the other team members and initiatives effectively.Builds program plans and program records. Works with the core team to identify andschedule all the work required to fulfill program scope, including identification andmanagement of critical path tasks. Identifies and manages program critical paths.Facilitates the development of key goals, objectives and success criteria for the programusing specific knowledge about one or more technical areas to research, plan,communicate and achieve objectives through the program/project team.Supports the budget and resource forecasting exercises. Analyzes areas of risk to avoid risky activities by identifying and managing critical pathsand risk areas. Establishes contingency plans and identifies trigger events and assumesresponsibility for initiation corrective actions. Escalates early to appropriate levels. Works with leadership and core team members to help identify and assist in makingprogram tradeoffs to balance scope, time and costs while developing resolutions tocomplex problems that require the frequent use of creativity. Ensures properdocumentation.Tracks and manages the program schedule and upstream and downstreamdependencies. Analyzes the actual performance against the plan and makesadjustments consistent with plan objectives. Develops resolutions to complex problemsthat require the frequent use of creativity. Oversees the team as they plan, track andexecute project plans from start to completion. Communicates updates on major milestones and keeps all stakeholders informed ofprogress and issues. Identifies and manages proposed changes to technical programparameters and works with management to ensure appropriate processes andcommunications are followed.Monitors and ensures quality of program deliverables. Works with core team and keyfield resources to develop and monitor deployment schedule, strategies and tools tosupport the implementation of programs in the field through trials and controlledcustomer deployments.Work with stakeholders to drive epics, user stories, and defects via agile sprint processAble to work across and enable alignment with distributed teams in the USA, Europe,and India.Adept at delivering concise, detailed reporting on all aspects of the team’s BAU andstrategic activities, identifying areas of improvement and gaps in process. Thrives in ambiguity and can reconcile differences in data reporting from differentstakeholders. Proactively address issues as they come up.
