Job Description

About the role

The Technical Program Manager is the operational backbone of the Standards and Governance functions within the Central Operations pillar. Reporting to the Director of Standards and Governance, this mid-senior individual contributor runs the document governance lifecycle, drives root cause analyses and their corrective actions to verified closure, coordinates SOC and ISO audit readiness, and holds the throughline across these programs. The role exists so this work can scale as Riot brings new data center capacity and customers online.

This position will be based in our Rockdale or Austin office. Relocation assistance is available for non-local candidates.

What you'll do

Governance Document Lifecycle

  • Own the day-to-day operation of the operations document library across the full hierarchy of policies, standards, processes, procedures, and forms.
  • Run the document routing and approval chain, tracking each document through subject-matter, governance, organizational, and final approval.
  • Maintain the review cadence so standards and procedures stay current against customer agreements, infrastructure changes, RCA findings, and audit findings.
  • Keep the library controlled and audit-ready, with version control, ownership, and status accurate at all times.

Root Cause Analysis & Corrective Actions

  • Coordinate the RCA program end to end: intake, facilitation support, and tracking against customer SLA windows
  • Drive corrective and preventive actions to verified closure, each with a named owner, due date, and effectiveness check.
  • Maintain the corrective-action tracker and produce status reporting for leadership and customers.
  • Identify recurrence and escalate it per the Root Cause Analysis Standard.

SOC Audit & Compliance Coordination

  • Serve as an operations coordination point for SOC & ISO audits.
  • Assemble and manage evidence, respond to auditor requests, and drive readiness for each scheduled audit wave.
  • Cross-Functional Program Management
  • Coordinate across Operational Readiness, IT/OT, EHS, and site operations to keep governance and RCA work moving.
  • Support rollout and adoption of operations systems of record (CMMS and incident management platforms).
  • Manage program schedules, dependencies, and status communication to technical and executive audiences.
  • Support Incident Management coordination – intake, coordination, communication during onsite incidents.

What you'll have

  • 5+ years in program or project management, governance, quality, compliance, or operations
  • 8+ years experience with mission critical environments such as: data centers, critical facilities, manufacturing, oil & gas, or another audited environment.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating audits or compliance programs (SOC, ISO, or comparable).
  • Experience running or supporting root cause analysis and corrective action programs.
  • Strong document and records management discipline with a high bar for accuracy and detail.
  • Excellent written communication and the ability to coordinate stakeholders across technical and executive audiences.
  • Proficiency with work or records systems such as a CMMS/EAM, ticketing, or document management platform.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Competitive Salary: Base range (commensurate with experience) + bonus + sign-on equity grant.
  • Long-Term Growth: Eligible to participate in Riot’s equity incentive programs and share in the success you help build.
  • 401(k) Retirement Plan: Incudes a generous company match.
  • Comprehensive Health Coverage: Multiple medical plan options, including 100% company-paid plans.
  • Wellness & Lifestyle Perks: Enjoy free gym memberships, pet insurance, childcare discounts, and more to support your life both in and out of work.
