The Technical Publications Manager leads the development and delivery of accurate, high-quality technical content aligned with product and business objectives. This role provides leadership to the publications team, ensures efficient and standardized processes, and partners cross-functionally to support product launches and compliance requirements. The manager also drives continuous improvement in tools, workflows, and content quality.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of technical specialists to ensure high performance, engagement, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage workload forecasting, resource allocation, and prioritization to meet deadlines and project milestones.
  • Manage external documentation vendors or contractors, including scope definition, performance oversight, and budget management.
  • Establish, standardize, and continuously improve documentation processes, workflows, tools, and quality standards.
  • Partner with Engineering, Product Management, Service, Manufacturing, etc. to ensure accurate and timely documentation.
  • Lead documentation efforts for product changes, ensuring accurate updates and version control across all publications.
  • Ensure all publications meet quality standards, brand guidelines, and regulatory requirements (e.g., safety, legal, industry standards).
  • Drive adoption of best practices, emerging technologies, and metrics to enhance documentation effectiveness and user experience.
  • Oversee the use and optimization of structured authoring tools, and publishing platforms to drive efficiency and scalability.
  • Collaborate in the development of Technical Publications horizon plan and execute the implementation process throughout the department.
  • Display servant leadership style which puts "People First".
  • Lead and communicate department principles and vision for future.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree with six or more years of experience in Technical Publications or in a related area, OR equivalent combination of both education and experience
  • Ability to travel 15%.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Familiarity with PTC Arbortext, Windchill, Creo Illustrate, Adobe FrameMaker, etc.
  • Master's degree in the field or a related area.
  • Knowledge and experience with developer-focused platforms, frameworks, and tools.
  • Experience in understanding and working with engineering drawings.
  • Proficiency with various web-based software applications including Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.

Pay Range:

$103,300.00 - $177,700.00

The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
