Job Description

(Senior) Technician, Managed Media Operations Center

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain live media transport services (satellite, fiber, IP).
  • Handle real-time incidents, alarms, and service degradations.
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions.
  • Manage redundant paths
  • Coordinate with RF, Data, Teleport, Engineering, and Customers.
  • Coordinate service provisioning, migrations, and maintenance activities.
  • Provide clear incident updates, (pre- and post-incident reports).
  • Ensure compliance with SLAs, SOPs, and change management processes.
  • Use monitoring tools to track QoS/QoE, bitrate, PID errors, and packet loss.

Technical Skills

  • Broadcast & Media: MPEG-TS, PIDs, PSI/SI, encoders/decoders, multiplexers, playout system
  • IP & Networking: Fiber network, IP multicast/unicast, UDP/RTP, SRT, RIST, SMPTE ST 2022-7
  • Satellite: Uplink/downlink, RF levels, modulation, FEC
  • Monitoring Tools: NMS/M&C systems, ServiceNow (SNOW)
  • Security: Encryption, conditional access systems (CAS)

Tools & Systems

  • Media monitoring platforms (bitrate, TS analysis)
  • Network monitoring tools (NMS, alarms)
  • Ticketing systems (ServiceNow)
  • Communication bridges and incident tools

Qualifications

  • Degree in Electronics, Communications, IT, or Networking
  • Experience in broadcast, media transport, or Media NOC operations
  • Knowledge of live broadcast environments is a plus

Soft Skills

  • Clear written and verbal communication
  • Ability to work in 24/7 shift environments and including public holidays
  • Cross-functional teamwork and leadership during outages
