Job Description

(Senior) Technician, Managed Media Operations Center

Key Responsibilities

Monitor and maintain live media transport services (satellite, fiber, IP).
Handle real-time incidents, alarms, and service degradations.
Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions.
Manage redundant paths
Coordinate with RF, Data, Teleport, Engineering, and Customers.
Coordinate service provisioning, migrations, and maintenance activities.
Provide clear incident updates, (pre- and post-incident reports).
Ensure compliance with SLAs, SOPs, and change management processes.
Use monitoring tools to track QoS/QoE, bitrate, PID errors, and packet loss.

Technical Skills

Broadcast & Media: MPEG-TS, PIDs, PSI/SI, encoders/decoders, multiplexers, playout system
IP & Networking: Fiber network, IP multicast/unicast, UDP/RTP, SRT, RIST, SMPTE ST 2022-7
Satellite: Uplink/downlink, RF levels, modulation, FEC
Monitoring Tools: NMS/M&C systems, ServiceNow (SNOW)
Security: Encryption, conditional access systems (CAS)

Tools & Systems

Media monitoring platforms (bitrate, TS analysis)
Network monitoring tools (NMS, alarms)
Ticketing systems (ServiceNow)
Communication bridges and incident tools

Qualifications

Degree in Electronics, Communications, IT, or Networking
Experience in broadcast, media transport, or Media NOC operations
Knowledge of live broadcast environments is a plus

Soft Skills

Clear written and verbal communication
Ability to work in 24/7 shift environments and including public holidays
Cross-functional teamwork and leadership during outages
