Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Technician III, Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) to support a highly technical advanced manufacturing operation in Long Beach, CA. This is a hands-on, lead-level position supporting day-to-day EHS activities across production, mechanical, and facility environments.
The ideal candidate brings strong experience with hazardous waste and chemical safety, industrial equipment safety, regulatory compliance, and high-voltage electrical environments.
What You'll Do:
- Manage hazardous metal and chemical waste programs, including labeling, storage, accumulation areas, inspections, manifesting, and vendor coordination.
- Support environmental monitoring related to air, water, waste streams, and sustainability programs.
- Support electrical safety programs involving 480V systems and high-voltage equipment.
- Verify lockout/tagout procedures and support energized work permitting.
- Oversee safety requirements for cranes, hoists, aerial lifts, and powered industrial equipment.
- Track equipment certifications and coordinate required safety inspections.
- Support compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, NFPA, and applicable industry standards.
- Assist with regulatory permits, inventories, compliance submissions, and required reporting.
- Participate in incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action follow-up.
- Support emergency response activities, including spills, evacuation drills, first aid, and electrical incidents.
- Respond to workplace medical incidents within the scope of training and maintain first aid and AED equipment.
- Maintain EHS records, permits, SDS files, inspection logs, and compliance documentation.
- Conduct or coordinate EHS training for employees and contractors.
- Partner with operations, maintenance, engineering, and quality teams to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
