- Curriculum & Instruction: Design and teach lessons in computer science and technology, covering coding, software, hardware, and digital citizenship.
- Programming Focus: Teach multiple languages (Python, Java, JavaScript) and concepts like algorithms, data structures, and web development.
- Engagement: Create interactive labs, coding workshops, and project-based activities, integrating emerging tech like AI and robotics.
- Assessment: Evaluate student work, projects, and exams, providing constructive feedback.
- Classroom Management: Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment that encourages exploration.
- Professional Development: Stay updated on new technologies and teaching methods.
- Collaboration: Work with other teachers and departments to integrate tech across subjects.
- Student Support: Provide academic advising, mentor students, and supervise extracurricular tech clubs.
- Administrative: Maintain records, prepare materials (syllabi, handouts), and manage technology resources.
- Strong background in computer science, programming, and software development.
- Ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
- Passion for integrating technology and computational thinking.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Iowa Teaching License with appropriate endorsements (i.e., Computer Science, CTE Information Technology, etc.)
