Job Opportunity in Omaha, NE: Technology Lead in Infrastructure-Server Administration
We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a Technology Lead specializing in Unix Server Administration. This role offers the opportunity to work in the vibrant city of Omaha, NE, known for its rich culture and welcoming community.
Role Overview
As a Senior Consultant, you will lead efforts in implementation, configuration, administration, and troubleshooting of infrastructure and server administration tasks. You will collaborate with a dedicated team to provide exceptional support services.
Required Skills and Experience
- Linux Administration (20%): Expertise in Linux systems, including Redhat, SUSE, and Ubuntu. Experience with DNS, DHCP, and Linux patching activities.
- Client Administration (15%): Proficiency in client activities, including Cisco UCS hardware and ESXi host builds.
- Security Measures (10%): Implement and maintain security measures to protect systems from unauthorized access and malicious activity.
- Troubleshooting (15%): Diagnose and resolve production failures, including job failures in Tivoli maestro.
- Logical Volume Management (10%): Experience in creating, extending, and troubleshooting Logical Volume Manager (LVM) issues.
- Network Activities (10%): Manage IPtables, block ports, and team network interfaces.
- User and Group Management (10%): Configure Sudo access, manage permissions, and handle ACLs, SUID, SGID, and Sticky bit.
- Virtual Machine Management (10%): Migrate virtual machines, add disks, and perform ESX maintenance activities.
Responsibilities
- Provide 24/7 support for Redhat Linux servers.
- Resolve tickets promptly according to SLA.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot Redhat Linux servers.
- Schedule Cron jobs for backups and maintenance activities.
- Manage Redhat Satellite and apply patches through Satellite.
- Document technical specifications for IT infrastructure upgrades.
- Work with remote teams and vendors to resolve issues.
- Utilize a ticket management system for workload management.
- Demonstrate strong self-management, communication, and organizational skills.
- Lead and collaborate with teams across multiple locations and time zones.
