ThePMRteam serves asPreqin’sauthoritative voice in the market andcomprisesmore than 15 analysts across alternative asset classes, based in London, New York, Dallas,Singaporeand Hong Kong. The team produces research publicationsthatare available to subscribersin the institutional and wealth spacethroughPreqin’scommercial platform (PreqinPRO)and haveseenstrong growthover the last few years.The teamalsopresents industry forumsanddelivershundreds ofstrategicBlackRockclientengagementseach year.

The ideal candidate willpossessextensive knowledge of the privatemarketsindustryandwill be an excellentcommunicator in public settings, comfortable discussingindustry trendswith senior stakeholders across the industry. The ideal candidate woulddemonstratestrong horizontal leadershipskillsto connect with teams acrosstheBlackRockecosystem internally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • LeadAsset Allocationresearch:execute theresearchagendawith the guidanceofsenior stakeholdersto positionPreqinasathought-leader onallocatingprivate marketsin the context of the whole portfolioandaddresssome of the key questions posedbyLPsandinvestmentcommittees.This includes helpingclients assess the impact of introducing private market asset classes to traditional portfolios,andhow to think about risk and return expectations.

  • Client and media engagement:representPreqinat industry events, clientroadshowsand financial press engagements

  • Team development:mentor awiderteam of researchersthatwork across private markets, helping to ensure the production of high-quality data driven content thatresonates with clients

  • Stakeholder engagement:build strong relationships across BlackRock teams working onasset allocation topics, across investment, client,Aladdinand corporate functions

  • Product leadership:provide feedbackonthe overall researchroadmap, grounded in the understanding of market developments andinsights that clientsneed

RequiredSkills:

  • Industry experience:8+years of experiencepreferredinprivatemarketsor related areas. The ideal candidate willpossessadeep understanding ofasset allocation approaches

  • Communication:exceptionalpresentation skills andabilitytoconfidently and succinctly respond to questions

  • Writing and analytical skills:demonstratedabilitytoanalyze complex datasets andcrystallizemeaningful insights

  • AIproficiency:hands-on comfort using AI tools in dailyresearchwork (e.g., prompt-based research, synthesis, data exploration– with awareness of AI limitations) andprompt engineering fundamentals (ability to create, test, iterate, and evaluate prompts/workflows to achieve consistent outputs

Preferred Qualificationsand Skills:

  • CFA or CAIA qualification preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and advanced degree preferred

  • Proficiencyin Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel,PowerPointand Word.

For New York, NY Only the salary range for this position is USD$162,500.00 - USD$215,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.

Our hybrid work model
