GENERAL SUMMARY
This position is responsible for ensuring support for telecommunications and desktop support within the company. This position is responsible for the administration of the company's enterprise phone system, which includes maintaining, updating, and troubleshooting telecommunication circuits. This position requires some after-hours support and troubleshooting. This position also trains employees and staff on the use of mobile devices and desktop software.
This position will be with Stratacor, an affiliate of Delta Dental of Minnesota.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot Microsoft Windows and Apple Mac OS desktop and notebook computers.
- Install and configure software.
- Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot Apple iPad tablets and iPhones.
- Set up, maintain, and support company enterprise phone system. This includes adding and removal of users from phone system on a timely basis.
- Sole issues for users or refer the problem to the appropriate staff in a timely manner.
- Place all phone equipment orders.
- Verify and audit monthly wireless mobile bill.
- Inventory and track all computer hardware and mobile devices within the company.
- Answer out-of-hours helpdesk calls as needed.
- Resolve 1st and 2nd level helpdesk issues.
- Willingness to seek training in areas of need within the department.
- Monitor network status to prevent downtime and perform troubleshooting as required.
- Diagnose VoIP hardware and software problems at remote locations.
- Generate reports from hardware as wells as third party vendors to determine capacity, performance, and bandwidth utilization.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Required:
- Knowledge of Active Directory
- Extensive knowledge of TCP/IP protocols
- Customer Service oriented
- Great problem solving skills
- Extensive understanding of computer networking and TCP/IP troubleshooting
- Extensive knowledge of network troubleshooting with sniffer and protocol analyzers
- Knowledge and experience with authentication and certificate authorities
- Extensive knowledge in hardware and software on a PC and server level
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Understanding of DNS and WINS
- Understanding of DHCP
- Understanding of Frame-relay and PTP circuits
- Understanding of VoIP and Cisco software.
- Understanding and extensive knowledge of IDS systems
- Knowledge of Cisco Webex Contact Center
- Knowledge of Calabrio call recording and reporting
- Knowledge of Cisco hardware
- Knowledge of Apple iPhone and iPad
- Knowledge of Mac OS and IOS operation systems
- Knowledge and experience with Cisco IOS, QOS configurations, and Cisco routing and switching protocols
- Extensive knowledge of VPN configurations
- Ability to train personnel on network concepts and methodologists as well as specific application utilization and configuration
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or Computer Engineering and/or a total of two (2) years technical/helpdesk experience with related certifications required
- Minimum of two (2) years' experience as a Desktop Administrator in LAN and WAN environment preferred
- Experience working with Microsoft Windows 2012/2016/2019 Server, Microsoft Windows 11, Active Directory
- Knowledge of TCP/IP, Frame Relay and Cisco routers
- Excellent interpersonal skills
Preferred:
- Knowledge of Cisco Phone Systems a plus
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Travel Requirements: minimal
- Weight Lifting Requirements: 80 lbs.
- Sedentary Work: Prolonged periods of sitting at a workstation while working on a computer

- Reports To: Telecom/Desktop Services Manager
- Directly Manages: None
- Internal Relationships: All departments within Delta Dental of MN, individual employees
- External Relationships: External clients

The starting salary range for this position is $66,000 TO $82,500 annually. Salary offers will typically be made in the listed range. The Company takes into consideration a candidate's education, training, and experience, as well as the position's work location, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value, including merit process and internal pay alignment when determining the salary for potential new team members. In compliance with state and federal regulations, a potential new team member's salary history will not be used in compensation decisions.
