Telemedicine Primary Care Physician (Metabolic Health & Weight Management)

Overview

We are seeking a Board-Certified Telemedicine Physician to deliver high-quality virtual primary care with a focus on chronic disease management and medical weight loss, including GLP-1–based therapies. This role is ideal for physicians passionate about preventive care, metabolic health, and improving long-term outcomes through a value-based, virtual-first model.

Physicians will manage patients across the continuum of care, with an emphasis on obesity, diabetes, hypertension, and related metabolic conditions, while integrating behavioral and lifestyle interventions to drive sustainable health improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive primary care via telehealth, focusing on weight management, diabetes, hypertension, and metabolic health.

  • Evaluate and manage patients for medical weight loss, including appropriate initiation and ongoing management of GLP-1 receptor agonists and related therapies.

  • Diagnose and manage chronic conditions with an emphasis on prevention, early intervention, and reduction of long-term complications.

  • Develop personalized care plans incorporating nutrition, physical activity, and behavioral health.

  • Monitor patient progress using data-driven approaches (e.g., A1c, blood pressure trends, weight, adherence).

  • Adjust treatment plans proactively to optimize clinical outcomes and patient engagement.

  • Prescribe and manage medications in accordance with evidence-based guidelines and state regulations.

  • Educate patients on lifestyle modification, medication adherence, and long-term disease management.

  • Document all patient interactions and care plans in the Doctronic EHR in a timely and compliant manner.

  • Collaborate with care team members (e.g., health coaches, care coordinators, behavioral health specialists) to support sustained behavior change and outcomes.

  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, telehealth regulations, and state-specific prescribing requirements.

Requirements

  • Active, unrestricted medical license in at least 40 U.S. states (50 states preferred).

  • Board Certification in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine required; American Board of Obesity Medicine (ABOM) certification strongly preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience in chronic disease management, particularly obesity, diabetes, and hypertension.

  • Experience prescribing and managing GLP-1 therapies (e.g., semaglutide, tirzepatide) or a strong willingness to adopt evidence-based obesity medicine protocols.

  • Strong understanding of preventive care and metabolic health management.

  • Experience with telemedicine platforms and delivering high-quality virtual care.

  • Excellent communication skills with a patient-centered, outcomes-driven approach.

  • Familiarity with both cash-pay and payer-reimbursed care models.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in obesity medicine, endocrinology, or lifestyle medicine.

  • Familiarity with value-based care models, including quality metrics and total cost of care.

  • Experience with remote patient monitoring (e.g., connected scales, BP cuffs, glucose monitoring).

  • Training or certification in weight management or metabolic health.

  • Multi-state licensure via IMLCC strongly preferred.

  • Prior experience in a virtual-first or digital health organization.

Schedule & Commitment

  • Minimum weekly scheduling of 40 hours required.

  • Must be willing to work evenings, weekends, and occasional overnight shifts to support 24/7 patient access.

Desired State Licenses

  • Minimum: IMLCC states plus California and New York

  • Preferred: All 50 states plus Washington, D.C.
