Job Description

Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Med Surg/Telemetry

Des Moines, IA | Nights (4×12 hr shifts, 48 hrs/week) | $3,221 Weekly Gross | Start: ASAP

Position Overview

As a member of the interdisciplinary team, the traveler contributes professional nursing knowledge and skills in the provision and management of care to patients through the application of the nursing process.The traveler may be required to float across all campuses within the same health system.

Assignment Details

  • Profession/Specialty: RN – Med Surg/Telemetry

  • Location: Des Moines, IA

  • Start Date:ASAP

  • Shift: Nights | 4×12-hour shifts (48 hrs/week)

  • Weekend Requirements: Every other or every 3rd weekend, including holiday rotation

  • EMR: EPIC

Unit Information

  • Patient Types: General med-surg care including post-op orthopedic (hips/knees) overflow

  • Patient Ratios: 4–5:1

  • Unit Size: 24 beds

  • Drips: Heparin

  • Telemetry Monitoring: Remote

Pay & Premiums

  • Weekly Gross: $3,221

  • Taxable Base: $1,814 ($38/hr W2 base)

  • Stipend: $1,407 (housing + meals & incidentals)

  • OT Rate: $57/hr

  • Callback Rate: $76/hr

  • Travel Reimbursement: Up to $600

Submission Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of Med Surg experience

  • First-time travelers accepted

  • Active Iowa RN license (Compact Allowed)

  • Certifications: BLS and ACLS (AHA)
