Description:
- Treatment Implementation: Executes specialized therapy plans designed by the OT, guiding patients through therapeutic exercises and activities to improve motor skills and coordination.
- ADL Training: Teaches patients how to perform Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, and eating, often using adaptive techniques.
- Adaptive Equipment: Instructs patients and families on how to use special tools like reachers, mobility aids, or modified kitchen utensils.
- Monitoring and Documentation: Records detailed notes on patient progress, behavioral changes, and safety concerns, reporting these findings to the supervising OT to adjust treatment plans as needed.
- Education and Support: Provides emotional encouragement to patients and trains caregivers on how to assist with home programs.
- Operational Tasks: Prepares treatment areas, cleans equipment, and may handle administrative duties like scheduling and billing.
- 2 years OTA experience in LTC setting - [REQUIRED]
- TX or compact license - [REQUIRED]
- DOR experience - [PREFERRED]
