Temp - Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) - Long Term Care (LTC) (Days) Oregon, MO
Join our dedicated healthcare team as a Temp Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) in Long Term Care, Oregon, MO. This vital role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives through skilled rehabilitative care. You will work under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist to support individuals with cognitive and physical functioning challenges, helping them regain independence and improve their quality of life.
Key Responsibilities include utilizing evidence-based methods to administer rehabilitative treatments such as ADL retraining, therapeutic activities, exercises, modalities, and assistive devices. You will assess patient progress, communicate with supervising therapists to modify treatment plans, and document all clinical activities accurately in accordance with regulatory standards. Providing consultation to patients, families, and caregivers is essential, along with active participation in team meetings, trainings, and conferences. The role also involves supervising students as needed and ensuring compliance with professional practice acts and ethical standards.
Required skills encompass excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, a thorough understanding of rehabilitative techniques, strong documentation skills, and the capacity to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Candidates must be detail-oriented, organized, and committed to patient-centered care.
Nice to have skills include experience working in long-term care settings, proficiency with electronic health records, and previous supervision of students or interns.
Preferred education and experience include an active State Licensure/Registration as an Occupational Therapy Assistant, with prior experience in a long-term care or rehabilitation environment being advantageous.
Additional requirements include maintaining licensure and certification, providing support for necessary supplies and DME, and complying with all applicable regulations and ethics codes.
