The Bar Harbor Inn and Spa is seeking a Terrace Grille Host to join our team for the season, where you'll be the first point of contact for guests dining in one of the most beautiful waterfront settings in Maine.

In this role, you'll help set the tone for an exceptional dining experience by greeting guests, managing reservations and waitlists, and coordinating seating flow. Position Details:

• Schedule: Full-Time, Seasonal (Spring–Fall)

• Shifts: Vary and may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays

• Location: Bar Harbor Inn and Spa – Terrace Grille

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet guests warmly and create a welcoming first impression

• Manage reservations, waitlists, and table assignments efficiently

• Coordinate seating to ensure smooth service flow between front and back of house

• Communicate wait times clearly and accurately to guests

• Assist servers and management with guest needs and special requests

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand and entrance area

• Monitor dining room activity and adjust seating plans as needed

• Provide exceptional customer service and handle guest concerns professionally

Skills & Requirements:

• Previous host or customer service experience preferred, but not required

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to stay organized and multitask in a fast-paced environment

• Friendly, outgoing, and professional demeanor

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

• Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle high-volume service

• Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to support others

• Ability to stand for extended periods

Performance Measurement:

Success in this role will be measured by guest satisfaction, efficiency of seating and table management, teamwork, and overall contribution to a positive dining experience.
