Job Description
At Ferrandino & Son, Inc., we know there is nothing routine about Exterior Maintenance (Landscaping, Lot Sweeping, and Snow Removal). Our Territory Managers are a key piece of our client and location-specific approach to Exterior Maintenance. Territory Managers are the day-to-day face of Ferrandino & Son for many of our clients. As a Territory Manager, you will independently develop existing and new client relationships across assigned territories. You will perform quality control assessments of client properties during which you will assess aesthetic appeal; the conformity of the exterior maintenance service partner’s work to contractual requirements, and you will assess safety and environmental issues to ensure quality and identify areas for improvement across client sites. Preference is given toward those with prior landscaping, snow removal and/or lot sweeping experience. Educational background and/or training in the areas of botany, horticulture, arboriculture and/or irrigation are strongly preferred. You will be responsible for managing and growing Ferrandino & Son’s client and service partner relationships in your assigned territory.

Be a problem solver: Develop client-specific approaches blending service partner abilities with client requirements and ensure quality across all contractual agreements.
Examples of Areas of Responsibility:
- Conduct ongoing relationship-building and coaching regarding existing service partners and service partners, so they understand expectations of service and service
- Identify and qualify potential new service partners for vetting process
- Be available to meet with service partners upon request
- Assess properties within assigned territory for quality control, ensuring that exterior maintenance performed by third-parties meet client standards and contractual requirements
- Provide consistent communication with clients about needs and goals, to build relationships and ensure service-expectations are met and contractual obligations are fulfilled
- Independently spot issues and resolve problems
- Review and understand contracts to understand scope of work and opportunities to develop business
- Identify and propose site enhancements to clients
- Develop and lead site enhancement projects with clients
- Promptly identify safety issues stemming from landscape and/or environmental factors on client-sites
- Develop proposals outlining scope of new projects and assigning accurate pricing for enhancement projects
- Ability to perform Request for Proposal (RFP) measurements, assessments and picture-taking
- Independently manage and perform field requests as disseminated by Regional Manager
- Onboarding assistance to new service partners with constant communication
- Working with service partners to execute enhancement projects according to contract
- Counseling service partners to suggest out of scope enhancements recognized during their regular service rotations
- Identify service partners who are not performing and initiate remedial efforts with service partners who are not performing
- Lead and participate in trainings focused on arboriculture, botany, horticulture, and other environmental factors
Skills You Bring
We seek candidates from a variety of educational backgrounds with a demonstrated interest in exterior maintenance. Successful candidates blend attention to detail with effective interpersonal interactions, and they leverage their knowledge of environmental factors to consistently enhance client properties.
Qualifications include
- Knowledge of commercial landscape management, snow removal, irrigation and or lot sweeping
- Exemplary communication, presentation, problem solving, and time-management skills such as with vendors and clients
- Proven ability to work independently, in an organized, focused, and disciplined manner
- Able to identify, balance, and prioritize shifting client needs and grow client relationships
- Ability to travel within designated territory and other territories, with overnight stays, as necessary, and some weekend travel
- Self-starter who can manage all day-to-day activities, including schedules, on and off-site meetings and critical deliverables
- Excellent communication skills with internal management, client representatives and service partners, both written and verbal
- Ability to understand and operate internal operating systems, MOS products, tablets, cell phones and cameras
- Valid driver’s license in one of the 50 states with a clean driving record
- Physically able to drive and operate a vehicle; walk; stand; speak; sit; write; and type
Preferences include
- BA or above in botany, horticulture, and/or arboriculture
- Three-to-five-years of experience in landscape management, landscape management sales, and the management of service partners
- Prior sales experience
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Territory Managers design their own schedules and apply their own judgment to determine how to best ensure effective quality control within the scope of each client’s request.
Work Environment
This position largely operates independently in the field, working in various locations, and visiting client sites.
Travel
Seasonally-dependent. Increased travel before, during, and after snow events. Travel as necessary for other business critical events. AGPS Device/ Tracker is installed on all automobiles and or/cell phones.

Expected base pay rates will be between $65,000 and $75,000 per year at the commencement of employment. Base pay, if hired, may include discretionary bonuses and other short and long-term incentive packages.
