Job Description
A defense manufacturing organization is seeking a Test Engineer to play a key role in maintaining and enhancing product testing capabilities within a highly regulated production environment. This position offers the opportunity to work hands-on with sophisticated testing equipment, lead continuous improvement initiatives, and collaborate cross-functionally with engineering and production teams to ensure product performance, accuracy, and compliance with industry standards.
Test Engineer Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor technicians and production staff in executing product testing and troubleshooting activities
- Set up, operate, and maintain specialized testing equipment, fixtures, and instrumentation used in product validation
- Design, fabricate, and improve test fixtures and systems to support evolving product and process requirements
- Conduct structured experiments, validation studies, and correlation testing to ensure accuracy and reliability of data
- Analyze test results and prepare clear technical reports documenting findings and recommendations
- Troubleshoot complex electronic and mechanical systems to identify root causes and implement corrective actions
- Support the development and documentation of standardized test procedures and methods
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within testing and manufacturing processes, including data management and process optimization
Test Engineer Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in an engineering role within manufacturing: disciplines can include electrical, R&D, product, process, design, quality, etc.
- Strong hands-on experience with electronic or mechanical testing equipment and instrumentation
- Ability to obtain Secret clearance required
Preferences:
- Bachelor"s degree in engineering is preferred
- Basic electrical troubleshooting skills are a plus
- Experience working with high speed cameras and IR testing is a plus
- Experience in energetics, pyrotechnics, or aerospace/defense industries is a plus
