Job Description
Title: Physical Therapist (PT) – Outpatient / Swing / Inpatient Coverage• Location: Point Pleasant, WV• Duration: 13 weeks• Shift: Day shift | 5x8-hour shifts (08:00 – 16:30)• Average patient load: 8 patients/day• Swing/IP coverage as needed
Job Responsibilities and Required and Preferred Skills & Requirements:
Responsibilities:
Provide hospital-based outpatient physical therapy, with occasional swing and inpatient coverage
Assess and treat patients with orthopedic, neurologic, geriatric, and pediatric conditions
Perform evaluations, reassessments, and develop short- and long-term goals and plans of care
Educate patients and families on home exercise programs, safety, and injury prevention
Implement adaptive devices, prosthetics/orthotics, and assistive devices as indicated
Use modalities including cervical/lumbar traction, cryotherapy, E-stim, iontophoresis, moist heat, phonophoresis, TENS, and ultrasound
Monitor vital signs, skin integrity, arousal/attention, sensory response, and strength
Document assessments, evaluations, plans of care, and discharge summaries
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
Required Qualifications:
BLS certification
Minimum 1 year of experience preferred
Experience in acute care, outpatient clinic, or skilled nursing facility preferred
Experience with Meditech charting system preferred
Patient ratio experience: 1:8
Willingness to float as needed
Preferred Qualifications / Skills:
Teaching or community hospital experience preferred
Skilled in adaptive devices, AROM/AAROM/PROM, gait training, prosthetic training, cognitive/neurologic rehab, and orthopedic interventions (ankle sprains, post-op shoulder/cervical/spinal surgery, total hip/knee replacement, DDD/DJD, etc.)
Knowledge of billing for Medicare A/B, Medicaid, commercial, private pay, and workers compensation
Familiarity with geriatric, pediatric, orthopedic, and vestibular populations
Patient/family education and safety training
