Job Description

Third Party Management Senior Advisor

The Third Party Manager must have experience in dealing with dynamic business requirements that are tied to strategic level business objectives. In order to effectively engage, this resource must have experience dealing with various levels of management to achieve desired outcomes. The resource must be able to deal with ambiguity as business objectives evolve, and must be able to identify and mitigate Cigna's risk as necessary.

Supplier Governance & Contract Management

  • Establish and enforce a consistent governance process for major and/or high‑risk IT hardware, software, and services suppliers.

  • Monitor supplier performance against service level agreements and defined metrics.

  • Compile, manage, and communicate required information-including profiles, reports, and scorecards-for monthly, quarterly, or annual performance reviews.

  • Lead recurring Enterprise Business Review sessions with internal partners and suppliers to provide strategic guidance.

  • Review and revise Enterprise Agreements, Service Level Agreements, Change Orders, and Statements of Work to maximize value and minimize risk.

  • Conduct or oversee invoice reconciliation to ensure compliance with contract terms.

Portfolio Strategy & Reporting

  • Support development and execution of a portfolio strategy that meets business needs, improves quality, and reduces cost.

  • Deliver actionable reporting for TPM and Global Procurement to support informed decision‑making.

  • Manage key supplier relationships directly or through matrix partners using Global Procurement & Third Party Management best practices.

  • Partner with Global Procurement and business teams to define and execute supplier negotiation strategies.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on contract terms, conditions, and financials for assigned suppliers.

  • Maintain an understanding of industry cost structures and their implications for strategic positioning.

Matrix Partner Coordination

  • Collaborate across Legal, CIP, IT, and other internal teams to ensure compliance with best practices and risk mitigation requirements.

  • Provide guidance on processes and streamline partner interactions related to approvals and contracting, particularly for large enterprise deals.

  • Support constructive conflict resolution with suppliers and internal partners.

  • Influence stakeholders to ensure inclusion of effective performance metrics in contracts.

  • Support international TPM initiatives as needed.

Key Competencies and Attributes

  • 5+ years of experience in global procurement, third‑party management, or IT, with emphasis in Telecom strongly preferred.

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Supply Chain Management, or related field strongly preferred.

  • Subject matter expertise in IT network infrastructure, telecom services, contact center services, and collaboration solutions.

  • Strong financial acumen.

  • High proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel (advanced), and PowerPoint.

  • Skilled facilitator with strong organizational and collaboration skills.

  • Familiarity with Ariba, Tableau, ICertis, and related source‑to‑pay or risk‑management systems.

  • Experience drafting and reviewing contracts, SLAs, MSAs, and SOWs.

  • Proven ability to measure and improve supplier operational performance.

  • Understanding of healthcare industry standards related to PHI/PII protection and security frameworks.

  • Ability to design and implement efficient processes with appropriate controls.

  • Strong leadership presence; able to inspire confidence with colleagues and suppliers.

  • Effective problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.

  • Skilled negotiator with demonstrated success managing third‑party relationships.

  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills across all leadership levels.

  • Ability to prioritize and excel in a fast‑paced, ambiguous environment.
