Job DetailsDuties:

• Responsible for overseeing a team of around 10 other tool Makers
• Machines parts to specifications, using machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, and

grinders.

• Set-ups, adjusts and operates basic machine tools as well as specialized, advanced tools to perform

precision machining operations.

• Using precision instruments (e.g., micrometers), measures, examines, and tests completed units to

check for defects and ensure conformance to specifications

• Sets controls to regulate machining; enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine

control media.

• Uses knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining

procedures.

• Calculates dimensions and tolerances using mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and

vernier calipers.

• Aligns and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, or materials onto

machines.

• Selects the appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in preparation of machinery work
