Day Shift

OverviewA specialty manufacturing company in the Litchfield County, Connecticut area is seeking a skilled Toolmaker to support plastic injection molding operations. This role is responsible for maintaining and repairing injection molds used to produce high-volume dispensing products. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically skilled, and motivated to grow within a collaborative manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:Troubleshoot and resolve tooling issues related to assembly equipment and injection moldsSet up and operate tool room equipment including lathes, milling machines, and grindersMaintain and repair plastic injection molds used in productionRead blueprints and use precision measuring devices to build or modify toolingManufacture high-quality, tight-tolerance components including angles and radiiWork with complex miniature components requiring strong visual attention to detail

Mentor apprentices and assistants within the departmentSupport day-to-day unscheduled production or tooling needsMaintain adherence to quality standards and production requirementsPerform additional duties as assigned

Requirements:High School Diploma or GEDJourneyperson Toolmaker certification/card3-5 years of experience in a plastics manufacturing environmentStrong mathematical and problem-solving skillsAbility to lift and/or move up to 50 lbsAbility to work safely in a manufacturing environment using required PPE

PreferencesStrong mechanical aptitudeAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprintsKnowledge of injection molding processes and tooling systemsFamiliarity with common molding resins (polypropylene, polyethylene, etc.)Experience working with tight tolerance tooling and miniature componentsInterest in expanding technical skills and knowledge
