Job DescriptionJob Title: Tool & Die MakerDepartment: Toolroom / ManufacturingLocation: Shelton, CTShift: 1st Shift 7:00 AM to 4:00 PMEmployment Type: Full TimePay: $35 to $40 per hourBenefits: Medical, Dental, Vision
SummaryResponsible for building, maintaining, and troubleshooting progressive dies to support production efficiency, quality, and uptime in a manufacturing environment
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesBuild, assemble, and troubleshoot progressive dies to meet production requirementsPerform preventive maintenance and repairs on dies to reduce downtimeInspect and adjust die components using precision measuring toolsRead and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specificationsOperate machine tools including lathes, grinders, and milling machinesEnsure quality and adherence to company standardsMaintain records related to die maintenance and repairsTroubleshoot and resolve die issues to minimize production delaysSupport continuous improvement and production efficiency efforts
Supervisory ResponsibilitiesMay assist in guiding or supporting junior level employees
Qualifications, Education, and Experience5 to 10 years of experience in tool and die makingStrong experience with progressive diesAdvanced knowledge of machining and toolmaking techniquesAbility to read and interpret blueprints and schematicsStrong mechanical aptitude and problem solving skillsAbility to work independently
Preferred QualificationsExperience with AutoCAD or SolidWorksKnowledge of Lean Manufacturing principlesExperience in a fast paced production environment
Work EnvironmentManufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, tools, and production equipmentMust follow all safety protocols and quality standards
Physical RequirementsAbility to stand, lift, and work with heavy equipment throughout the shiftUse of PPE including safety shoes, eye protection, and hearing protection
