Job Description

Position Summary

Guggenheim Investments is seeking a candidate interested in managing the Derivative Operations function within the Transaction Services department of its' Investment Management Operations business. The Derivative Operations group is responsible for trade confirmation, settlement, lifecycle payments, collateral management and regulatory reporting oversight for all derivative products traded across the entire firm. This is a highly visible and dynamic position within the company, frequently interacting with senior members of Operations, Portfolio Management, Investment Risk, Trading, Legal and Compliance providing expertise in the operational support of derivative products.

This position is located in our Chicago offices.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Day-to Day management of the Derivative Operations team, which provides confirmation, trade settlement, collateral management and regulatory reporting oversight across the firm.

  • Act as the operations key point of contact with third party providers including Broker-Dealers, Custodians and Administrators.

  • Play a key role in new product development by communicating operational impact and developing the support model of such instruments.

  • Develop and document procedures and controls to increase the efficiency and production of the department.

  • Participate and provide senior-level representation of the team in various department and firm-wide project/initiatives.

  • Assume the lead from Operations in developing the framework to support constantly changing regulatory requirements.

  • Work and communicate effectively with internal groups including portfolio management, trading, client distribution, legal and compliance.

  • Interface with various systems vendors to stay current with industry technology and push business initiatives.

  • Participate and represent the transaction operations team as necessary in client communications including on-site due-diligence meetings.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with a preferred concentration in a business-related field.

  • Minimum of 6-10 years of experience in an operational role within financial services.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Broad understanding of all OTC and exchange traded derivatives, including Futures, Options, FX, Swaps and Swaptions.

  • Knowledge of various industry tools such as Blackrock Solutions Aladdin, Omgeo, Bloomberg, DTCC, MarkitSERV and CLS as well as clearing institutions.

  • Motivated team player who has a collaborative mindset to resolve issues both within and outside of the department.

  • Desire to drive change within the operational workflow and dedication always improving the group's processes.

  • Excellent communication skills to interact with brokers and counterparties as well as various levels of management within the firm.

  • Ability to operate in a stressful, deadline driven environment while still maintaining a strict attention to detail and an ability to prioritize issues appropriately.

  • Proficiency in Excel and a desire to implement workflow tools is desired but not required.

Salary Range

Annual base salary between

$135,000.00-$145,000.00

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary range for this position. Actual base salaries may vary depending on factors such as location and experience. The range listed reflects base salary only, and the total compensation package may include other components such as incentive compensation.
