The Trailer Technician II is expected to have mastered all applications of Preventative Maintenance and to perform basic and advanced adjustments, repairs and component replacements with limited supervision on Class 7 and 8 trailers. Additionally, will perform basic diagnostic operations in order to successfully diagnose trailer system failures and suggest accurate system repairs.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Examine trailers to determine extent of damage or malfunction(s).
- Diagnoses, repairs, builds and rebuilds all parts of trailer equipment
- Provide customers with preventative maintenance solution, whenever appropriate.
- Maintain 80% productivity
- Prevent comebacks
- Perform inspections and preventative maintenance of trailers and equipment.
- Perform routine and scheduled maintenance services such as lubrications and component replacements.
- Repair, reline, replace, and adjust brakes (air, hydraulic, electric and brake accessories).
- Test components using proper equipment to ensure proper operations.
- Troubleshoot and repair suspension systems including leaf and coil spring systems, and Hendrickson walking beam type suspension systems.
- Perform basic aluminum and steel wire welding.
- File, grind, sand and smooth filled or repaired surfaces, using power tools and hand tools.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Other duties assigned.
The annualized pay ranges vary based on work location. The salary range for this position is $17.00 - $37.00 per hour, based on experience, skills, and qualifications. Additional Compensation: This position may be eligible for monthly bonuses/commissions. Benefits: In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for benefits such as health insurance, dental, vision, 401k, life and AD&D, paid time off, holidays.
