Training & Development Manager

Location: 1 Dixon Square, Chestertown, MD 21620

Work Hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday

Salary Range: $70-$110k per year

The Dixon Group is looking a Training & Development Manager to join our team in Chestertown, MD! The Training & Development Manager will oversee the organization's employee learning programs, working to enhance skills and align workforce performance with strategic goals. This role is responsible for the design, implementation, and evaluation of comprehensive training programs that enhance employee skills, performance, and productivity. You will partner with leadership to align learning initiatives with the company's strategic goals, ensuring the workforce remains competitive, compliant, and continuously evolving.

This is a fully onsite position that may require occasional travel

What You'll Do:

  • Needs Assessment: Identify skills gaps and training needs by collaborating with managers.
  • Program Development: Create, update, and implement training programs using various methods like workshops, e-learning, and on-the-job training.
  • Evaluation: Assess the effectiveness of training programs to ensure ROI.
  • Compliance: Ensure all training programs cover and document compliance with company policies and external regulatory requirements.
  • System Management: Oversee the administration and optimization of the Learning Management System (LMS) to create a positive user experience,
  • automate enrollment, track compliance certifications, and provide data-driven insights.

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelors degree is required; preferred in HR, Human Resources Development, Education, Business Administration.
  • 5-10+ years experience in training, Instructional Design, Curriculum Development with adult learners preferred.
  • Knowledge or an understanding of manufacturing, distribution/logistics preferred.
  • Instructional Design: Proficiency in adult learning, principles and best practices with the ability to create engaging, effective content.
  • Communication & Presence: Exceptional public speaking and presentation skills with the ability to command a room and influence stakeholders.
  • Competence in building and managing interpersonal relationships at all levels of the business, from frontline staff to executive leadership.
  • Adaptability: Comfort with shifting priorities and the ability to pivot training strategies as the industry evolves.
  • Analytical Skills: A data-driven approach to measuring learning outcomes and identifying trends within the workforce.
  • Tech Savviness: Mastery of Learning Management Systems (LMS), authoring tools (like Articulate or Captivate), and virtual meeting platforms. Skilled in evaluating and managing digital collaboration tools to ensure seamless program delivery.
  • Strategic Thinking: The ability to bridge the gap between classroom learning and corporate strategy; maintaining a "big picture" perspective to ensure all training programs directly support the organization's bottom line and long-term goals.
