Transportation Civil Engineer (PE)
Northern Kentucky | Transportation Engineering Firm
Shape the Future of Transportation in Northern Kentucky
We are partnering with a well-established transportation engineering firm to identify a Transportation Civil Engineer (PE) to support and lead roadway and transportation design projects throughout Northern Kentucky.
This role is ideal for an early- to mid-career Professional Engineer who has prior experience working at a transportation-focused engineering firm and is eager to continue building technical depth, project ownership, and client exposure within a respected, long-standing organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Design roadways, highways, intersections, pedestrian facilities, and transportation systems
- Develop plans, models, and construction documents using MicroStation, InRoads, and/or OpenRoads
- Collaborate with planners, environmental specialists, and construction teams to deliver integrated solutions
- Support traffic engineering, civil site development, and transportation planning efforts
- Prepare technical reports, specifications, cost estimates, and client presentations
- Coordinate with clients, agencies, and stakeholders to support project delivery
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal transportation regulations and design standards
- Contribute innovative, practical solutions that enhance safety, mobility, and sustainability
Requirements
Required Qualifications (Non-Negotiable)
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- 5–10+ years of experience in transportation engineering
- Prior experience working for an engineering firm specializing in transportation engineering, such as:
- Roadway design
- Airport design
- Traffic engineering
- Transportation planning
- Civil site development
- Proficiency with MicroStation, InRoads, and/or OpenRoads
- Strong analytical, communication, and time-management skills
- Ability to work effectively in a consulting engineering environment
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. — NO H-1B or visa sponsorship available
