What You Will Do: The ODOT District 12 Capital Programs Department, which includes the Planning, Design, and Construction sections, has a position vacancy that requires the expertise of a professional engineer. TE3 - Construction

• Oversee and administer multiple construction projects of varying complexity.
• Work closely with Design and Maintenance Departments to address issues and future project considerations.
• Perform constructability plan reviews.
• Process change orders and estimates.
• Utilize multiple computer software programs such as GoForms, Mobile Inspector, AASHTOWare Project (AWP), etc. to manage construction projects.
• Manage in-house and consultant inspection staff.
• Act as a mentor for upcoming project engineers and interns.

Who we are looking for: The District 12 Capital Programs Department is seeking a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Ohio who is passionate about public service, conscientious, self-directed, adaptable problem solver, and takes initiative to manage issues independently. The candidate should have a good understanding of engineering principles, design standards, and the ODOT Construction and Materials Specifications. The candidates should also have proficiency in reading and interpreting plans and contract documents. Strong communication skills are essential for interacting and building relationships with various team members, project stakeholders, public officials, contractors, and external customers. Licensed as registered professional engineer by Ohio State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors; 12 mos. exp. as group or project leader providing work direction & training to engineering technicians &/or lower-level engineers or 12 mos. exp. in conducting engineering related research (i.e., conducting engineering related research only applies to staff specialist positions); if assigned to operate a state vehicle to travel to & inspect project sites, must possess valid driver's license.

• Or licensed as registered professional engineer by Ohio State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors; 12 mos. exp. as Transportation Engineer 2, 85642; if assigned to operate a state vehicle to travel to & inspect project sites, must possess valid driver's license.
• Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above may be substituted for the experience required, but not for the mandated registration.
