POSITION SUMMARYThompson Engineering is seeking an entry-level Transportation Engineer to join our growing transportation design group. This role is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or early-career professionals eager to develop skills in roadway and transportation design. The ideal candidate will demonstrate enthusiasm for learning, strong attention to detail, and a desire to contribute to meaningful infrastructure projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES• Assist in the design and preparation of roadway, intersection, and transportation project plans under the supervision of senior engineers.• Use OpenRoads Designer and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D to support design tasks.• Prepare project documentation, reports, and quantity estimates.• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on transportation and civil infrastructure projects.• Participate in training and mentoring opportunities to build technical and professional skills.

QUALIFICATIONS• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.• 0–3 years of relevant experience (internships or co-op experience a plus).• Interest in transportation engineering and roadway design.• Familiarity or proficiency with OpenRoads Designer or Civil 3D preferred.• Engineer Intern (EI/EIT) certification or eligibility preferred.• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
